The original painting was based on a photo I saw in a magazine. The only thing I used from the picture was the woman and her tortilla making slab. I invented the rest of the surroundings with the window, table, fruit, pots, peppers, plants etc.

This was a commissioned piece and I was happy how it turned out. Dewey is in Doggy Heaven chasing rabbits and "Maureen" wanted to do something special for her husband on their anniversary. She was very pleased and I hope her husband was too!

Painting on tiles is a new medium for me. I've painted these little guys before on canvas and liked them so much I decided to try them on tiles. It took me awhile to get used to the personality of the surface when I'm used to canvas or masonite. The paints dry fast and there's no going back when trying to blend!
